My media whoredom conquers another platform, as today I have an audio commentary for NPR's Marketplace. I talk about Hillary Clinton's trade proposals and the bang-up job they would do in improving America's image. Discerning readers will observe echoes from this blog post of last week -- but with less snark and more lilting irony. [Sounds like NPR's new motto!!--ed.] Click here to listen and tell me if my voice can cut it on NPR.

Your voice is definitely NPR

Definitely NPR quality. I

Definitely NPR quality. I like how NPR introduced you as "commentator" before and then "professor" afterward.

The free-trade talk on the Democrat side is really disappointing. Its a scapegoat and hurts the better arguments about tax policy at home. In regards to trade abroad, I am fairly confident that with Senator Clinton in office, our China policy will get worse and worse. Particularly, with other established Dems. surrounding her.

Then again, all Republicans want to do is spend more on national security (re: Iraq) and cut taxes. Our China policy will be like a recalcitrant debtor realizing he can hold up the bank. Ahh, the fine qualities of being default-proof.

I think Mrs. Clinton is

I think Mrs. Clinton is talking about adding environmental requirements to trade agreements. May not be a bad idea. It would be a win-win for eveybody.

BTW when are you going to announce your October Books of the Month?
