Gone conferencing

I'm off at a conference today, so blogging will be light. Talk amongst yourselves.

Here's some topics of conversation: The National Interest has some fascinating essays in its latest issue. In particular:

Barry Eichengreen provides an intellectual autopsy of why economists failed to predict recent events, and where the profession needs to go from here;
Stephen Roach looks at China's response to the global financial crisis, and worries that Beijing does not understand the need for rebalacing.
